What a fantastic first September week we’ve had! It was so great to continue getting to know all of your children. They’ve been so brave, making good choices – and making new friends. It’s been a joy watching them begin to build our classroom community. Children also had a lot of fun sharing the photos of their families. This also helped them form an understanding that here at Coronado, we are also a Preschool Classroom Family! 

This week, we talked a lot about our classroom rules and expectations. We had a great time coming up with rules together, and each child helped brainstorm ideas on how we can be good friends and kind classmates. We then created a special “contract” with their “signatures” to display on the wall, serving as a visual reminder of our commitment to our classroom.

Next week, we’ll continue to reinforce our rules and get into our daily routines. We’ll be focusing on the concept of our classroom schedule and how there’s a time for everything—whether it’s playing, learning, or eating. This helps them feel safe and secure, knowing what to expect throughout our day.

Important Information for Next Week

• On Monday, we’ll be making our first trip to the school library! This is a special time where we’ll learn how to use the library purposefully and find great new books to read. Our librarian, Ms. Pepper, is very excited to meet our class, and she is already preparing a very special book she’ll read to them! Please remind your child that we’ll be using our quiet voices in the library.
• On Tuesday, we’ll have a special bus safety presentation to get ready for our upcoming field trip on November 12th, 2025. A school bus will be visiting the school, and we’ll learn how to get on and off the bus safely and how to behave while riding. This is a great way to prepare for all of your future field trip adventures! 

A Note on the Fall Carnival

A friendly reminder that we are still in need of families to purchase tickets in advance for the upcoming Fall Carnival. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, and tickets can still be purchased until September 10th at 5 pm.
