Happy Friday,
We’ve had a truly wonderful and engaging week, focusing our curriculum on the fascinating world of tree habitats and ecosystems. It’s been incredible to watch your children engage with this topic; their natural curiosity about the world around them is truly blossoming! We spent time reading wonderful books, discussing the diverse animals that call trees home, and had a blast using natural materials to create our own cozy bird nests. This hands-on activity helped them understand how animals adapt and build shelter.
Next week, we’re planning to continue this exploration by designing, building, and decorating a bird home and crafting the little birds that will live inside. This project will reinforce concepts of structure and protection, connecting their imaginative play directly to lessons about responsibility and the environment.
Honoring Our Veterans
As we approach Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11th, we want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude. We are planning a whole school recognition program to honor the brave men and women who have served our country. Thank you to all veterans and military families in our school community for your incredible service and sacrifice!
Important Field Trip Information: Denver Center for the Performing Arts
Next Wednesday, November 12, is our eagerly anticipated field trip to the Arvada Center for the Arts! Cooking Lesson Volunteer Opportunity
To cap off our habitat unit with a fun, sensory activity, we are hosting a hands-on cooking lesson where we’ll be making the classic healthy snack, “Ants on a Log”! (The celery represents the “log” or tree branch from the environment, of course!)
This activity encourages fine motor skills and following simple directions. We are looking for a few parent volunteers to help provide ingredients and support for preschoolers during this fun activity on Friday, November 14th, between 2:00 and 2:45pm.
If you are available to lend a hand, please feel free to sign up here.
Thank you so much for your continued support! We couldn’t do it without you.
Warmly,
The Preschool Team
