Dear Families,
Happy Friday! What a week this was! Our little ones were busy drawing, painting, cutting, creating, writing, counting, explaining, retelling, exploring, discovering, reflecting, and more! But the most wonderful part was seeing them engage in learning through play, a testament to their growing skills and development. They had a blast in preschool this week, and we couldn’t be prouder of their progress.
It was a joy to see children’s faces light up when they discovered the amazing things you’ve purchased from our Amazon wish list for our new Trees unit! These items, such as the Dramatic Play (the sink, the camping stove), Toys and Games (the leaf tree), Discovery (the globe and the tree-shaped wall pocket sheet organizer), and Library (the Lama Lama and the Leaf Man books), have enriched our curriculum and provided new and exciting learning opportunities for our preschoolers. Thank you so much for your donations – your generous support is very much appreciated!
I also appreciate you signing up for our Halloween party. We are still looking for families to come up with two games children could play. These games will add to the fun and excitement of the event, and your participation will make the party even more enjoyable for the children. You can view our Signup Genius here.
Additionally, on October 31st, we will participate in our whole school Halloween parade, so that day will be filled with Halloween activities galore!
Please keep in mind the following:
Our Preschool Halloween Celebration:
9:45–11:00 am
- It will take place between 9:45 and 11:00 to include those on a modified schedule.
- Our Halloween celebration will be safe and enjoyable for all. Our preschool classroom will have small treats, games, crafts, and a read-aloud. We’ll also be mindful of those with allergies to ensure everyone can join in the fun. Then, the children will prepare their cots for Rest Time and continue with our regular schedule until 2 p.m.
Schoolwide Halloween Parade Schedule:
2:00 – 2:15 pm
- Parade
Join us for a festive parade led by AMP, starting with our Kindergarten classes. Weather permitting, we will hold the parade outside. All classes (including preschool) will line up outside their classrooms to follow along.
2:15 – 3:00 pm
- Class Parties (Remember, our preschool party will be in the morning, but we know many big siblings who are already very excited about their classroom celebration!) Preschoolers will follow their regular class schedule for the remainder of the day.
Students will enjoy their Halloween parties in their classrooms. Please be mindful of any allergies and provide alternative food choices to ensure all students can participate.
3:00 – 3:05 pm
- Clean Up
We ask for everyone’s help in cleaning up after the festivities.
Alternative Activities:
- For families that do not celebrate Halloween, Mrs. Pepper will supervise an alternative activity in the library. Please communicate your plans to me. I would also be happy to provide a different activity for your child during our morning party if such an adjustment is needed.
Costume Restrictions:
- Costumes must comply with the Student Code of Conduct and all Jeffco Policies.
- No weapons or imitation weapons (guns, sticks, swords, pitchforks, etc.) are allowed. If you’re unsure, it’s best to leave it at home.
- Costumes should not be worn to school. I will send you more clarification next week.
- If using colored hairspray as part of a costume, please apply it at home, not at school.
Thank you for being so supportive! Have a wonderful weekend filled with fall sunshine!
Kindly,
Annie
