Happy Friday, Families!<\/h3>

We have had an incredible week kicking off our Exercise Study! The energy in the classroom is high, and the children are already discovering so many wonderful ways their bodies can move and stay healthy.<\/span><\/p>

Exploring How Our Bodies Move<\/h3>

Next week, we dive into Investigation 1: What do our bodies do when we exercise? Following our Creative Curriculum, we will be focusing on how our bodies change during physical activity. We will spend time feeling our hearts beat faster after a game of tag, observing how our breathing changes, and discussing why our muscles feel “tired but happy” after we play. We\u2019ll also be exploring different types of movements, from the stretching of yoga to the power of jumping, to see how versatile our bodies truly are.<\/span><\/p>

Field Day: Next Friday, 5\/8\/2026<\/h3>

Next Friday is a big day here at Coronado! Our preschoolers will be participating in our annual <\/span>Field Day<\/b> during the afternoon session.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

It is a long-standing Coronado tradition for parents to <\/span>take their children out to lunch <\/b>on this special day. If you would like to participate in this tradition, please come and pick up your child at 11:00 AM and ensure they are back at school by 1:00 PM at the latest, so they don’t miss the afternoon fun.<\/span><\/p>

To make this event a success, <\/span>we are asking that one family member per student join\u00a0us for the afternoon between 1:00\u00a0and 2:30 pm. <\/b>We need your help guiding our little athletes through the various activity stations and cheering them on!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Additionally, on May 8, we are encouraging students to <\/span>“Move to School”<\/b> by walking, biking, or scootering to school (even if that means parking in the neighborhood and walking in). We will have granola bars to hand out to participating students. We are also having our First Annual Bike Decorating Contest! Students will be voting on the best-decorated bike\/scooter at one of their Field Day stations, so decorate those bikes or scooters and ride on into school! You can check in at the bike rack area by the lower playground.<\/span><\/p>

The Upcoming Weeks<\/h3>

As we wrap up our Exercise unit, we will be having a special celebration in the form of a <\/span>Glow Stick Dance Party<\/b> on 5\/23 – keep an eye out for more details on that soon!<\/span><\/p>

Please also remember that our <\/span>last day of school is Thursday, May 28th,<\/b> which will be a <\/span>half day.<\/b> We are planning a festive End-of-Year Picnic to celebrate all the growth we’ve seen this year – we will send out more information once we get a bit closer to that date. Finally, if your family is planning an early summer vacation and your child will not be attending school during those final few days, please let us know as soon as possible so we can plan attendance.<\/span><\/p>
