Happy Friday, Preschool Families!<\/span><\/h3>

We have had a fantastic and busy week in our classroom. Here is a look at what your little ones have been up to and what we have planned for the week ahead!<\/span><\/p>

Kicking Off Our “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” Study<\/h3>

Our new unit got off to an incredibly successful start! We are currently diving into the <\/span>Reduce, Reuse, Recycle<\/span><\/i> unit from the Creative Curriculum. This week, we focused on our very first investigation question: <\/span>“What is trash?”<\/b> The children have been deeply engaged in learning how to identify waste. We spent time investigating the items we throw away every day, sorting objects, and discussing the important difference between what goes in the garbage can and what can go in the recycling bin. They are already becoming so observant about the materials we use and discard in our classroom!<\/span><\/p>

Flashlight Reading in the Library<\/h3>

In addition to our new study, we also had an absolute blast celebrating\u00a0<\/span>Read Across America, thanks to Ms. Pepper!<\/b>\u00a0The highlight of the week was our special Library time, where we turned off the overhead lights and read books using flashlights. It added such a fun, magical element to storytime, and the students were so excited to share and read their favorite books in the dark.<\/span><\/p>

A Sneak Peek at Next Week<\/h3>

Next week, we will continue our Creative Curriculum study by moving on to our next big investigation: <\/span>“Where does our trash go?”<\/b> We will expand our understanding of the community by learning about the journey of our garbage. The children will explore the roles of sanitation workers and garbage trucks, and we will discover what happens at landfills and recycling centers once our trash leaves the curb.<\/span><\/p>

Creating Recycled Masterpieces<\/h3>

We are getting ready for an exciting and eco-friendly classroom activity, and we need your help to make it a success!<\/span><\/p>

Please remember to send in bottle caps, plastic containers, etc., and\/or other materials we can utilize to create an art project. This could be an artistic piece (a wall art piece made from bottle caps, a statue, etc.) or a functional item (a cup made from recycled paper, etc.).<\/span><\/p>

We will display these items in the school. Families are welcome to view our masterpieces on that <\/span>Friday, 3\/20, between 2:00 and 2:30 PM<\/b> in the display cabinet.<\/span><\/p>

Spring Sneaker Dance & Silent Auction<\/h3>

Only 1 more week until the dance! <\/span>EVERYONE<\/b> attending is required to purchase a ticket, even parents. Parents need to attend and chaperone their own children. <\/span>Please do not wait till the last minute to buy.<\/b> We need to plan accordingly for snacks and drinks. <\/span>Tickets will only be on sale until March 11th.\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>

In-N-Out Food Truck Spirit Night and Meet & Greet with the New Principal, Mrs. Kneuer<\/h3>

On April 2nd at 5 pm, the In-N-Out Food Truck will be rolling into the Coronado Parking Lot. Meal tickets are now on sale for $8 each and include a hamburger or cheeseburger, chips, and a soda. Mrs. Kneuer, our new principal, will also be here to meet and mingle with all the Coronado Families. Do not miss this opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal. <\/span>Meal tickets will only be on sale until March 25th.<\/i><\/b><\/p>
