Please read it carefully to help us ensure a safe and successful year for everyone.<\/span><\/p><h4><b>Parking<\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please use the school parking lot. For everyone&#8217;s safety, especially our little learners, <\/span><b>please use the designated pedestrian crossing areas<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> when walking through the parking lot.<\/span><\/p><h4><b>Free Breakfast for All Jeffco Students!<\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We&#8217;re thrilled to share that <\/span><b>free breakfast is available to all Jeffco students<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, including preschoolers!<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Breakfast will be served from 8:00 AM &#8211; 8:10 AM.<\/b><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please enter through the door north of the front entrance at 8:00 AM and head to the school cafeteria.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After breakfast, exit through the same door and line up outside our classroom.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Parents must remain with their children during breakfast<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and sign them in outside the classroom door.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h4><b>Drop-Off Procedures\u00a0<\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our doors open for student drop-off at 8:15 am, which is when staff supervision begins. We do not offer a \u201csoft start\u201d, so please plan on staying with your child until that time. The drop-off location is on the south side of the building. When you arrive, you will need to sign in your preschooler using the book on the small metal stand.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please arrive a few minutes before the start time. When you arrive, we&#8217;ll ask for your help with a few things:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Sign your child in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (this is a state requirement).<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help your child place their <\/span><b>labeled snack<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the snack basket. Snacks need to be separate from lunch boxes, clearly labeled with your child&#8217;s name, and should not require refrigeration.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Mondays, please help your child file their Friday folder in its designated spot.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On Mondays, return laundered bedding in the <\/span><b>bedding bin<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This year, bedding should be placed in a <\/span><b>16-quart plastic container with a lid<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. If you&#8217;re still looking, here&#8217;s a link to a crib\/toddler-sized bedding set that fits our cots [link to bedding set]. Please, no standard\/twin-size bedding.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it&#8217;s time to drop off, <\/span><b>give your child a quick hug and encourage them to walk into class independently. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It&#8217;s normal for children to sometimes struggle with separation, and when this happens, a reassuring squeeze and encouraging words from you, followed by our support, will help them transition. Most children settle into their day within a few minutes of entering the classroom.<\/span><\/p><h4><b>Sunscreen<\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Per state requirements, your child must be protected from the sun. <\/span><b>Families are responsible for applying sunscreen to their child before dropping them off at preschool.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> You will need to initial the sign-in\/out sheet daily to confirm sunscreen has been applied.<\/span><\/p><h4><b>Additional Items in School<\/b><\/h4><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please send your child with a <\/span><b>labeled water bottle daily<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (no juice or milk, please).<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each day, your child should bring a <\/span><b>backpack<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> containing a gallon-sized Ziploc bag with <\/span><b>one change of clothes, underwear, and socks<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They may also bring a small &#8220;lovie&#8221; (up to 12 inches) for nap time, which should be kept inside their bedding tote and will stay at school Monday-Friday. All other toys and jewelry should remain at home.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Please note:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Per Colorado state guidelines, students are not permitted to have hand sanitizer, chapstick, or hand lotion\/cream with them in the preschool classroom.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your child regularly requires changing at school, please include a <\/span><b>labeled Ziploc bag with a few pull-ups (no diapers) and a pack of wipes<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in their backpack. Please check this daily. Do not send in a whole bag of pull-ups &#8211; we have no space to store those.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h4><b>Pick-Up Procedures<\/b><\/h4><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please arrive a few minutes before 2:45 pm.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sign your child out while you wait.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will open the door at 2:45pm and send your child out to you. <\/span><b>Please be prompt and have your ID ready<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for us to check until we get to know all families.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there&#8217;s a change in who will pick up your child, please <\/span><b>add that person to Jeffco Connect and notify us in advance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coronado Preschool does not offer a &#8220;soft start.&#8221; Our doors open for student drop-off at 8:15 am, which is when staff supervision begins.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The drop-off location is on the south side of the building. Please note that we do not offer delayed pickup or aftercare.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New this year, Jeffco is implementing a $40 late fee.\u00a0 Please be sure to pick up your child on time.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h4><b>Outside Schedule<\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We enjoy outdoor play twice a day for a total of one hour, weather permitting. Please dress your child in <\/span><b>weather-appropriate clothing, including playground-safe closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops or Crocs)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><h4><b>Nap\/Rest Time<\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All preschool children will have a daily <\/span><b>45-minute nap\/rest time<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Each child will have their own cot with bedding provided from home. Bedding will be sent home each Friday for laundering and should be returned on Monday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h4><b>Snacks<\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will have one afternoon snack each day. Please provide your child with an <\/span><b>easy-to-open, quick-to-eat snack daily. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are unable to provide snacks if they are forgotten. <\/span><b>Snacks should be labeled with your child&#8217;s name <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and placed in the snack basket at the beginning of each school day. Remember, it needs to be separate from lunch and cannot require refrigeration.<\/span><\/p><h4><b>Lunch<\/b><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lunch will be from <\/span><b>11:15 AM &#8211; 11:45 AM daily<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Preschool students will have designated tables in the school cafeteria. <\/span><b>Hot lunch prepared at school is available and FREE for all Jeffco students!<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the first two weeks of school, we kindly ask preschool parents to <\/span><b>send lunches from home<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to help children adjust to our daily schedule. If this presents a problem for your family, please let us know, and we&#8217;ll find a solution.<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Children need a <\/span><b>labeled lunch box containing their lunch and a drink<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
